Atletico Madrid may have only just completed the season-long loan signing of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea, but they are already looking at acquiring the Belgian on a permanent basis next summer.

Courtois has spent the last two seasons on loan at the Vicente Calderon from Chelsea and will now spend a third campaign in Spain.

However, Atletico Madrid are desperate to sign Courtois on a permanent basis and are already planning their push to do just that, according to Spanish daily Marca.

Courtois is happy at Atletico Madrid and expressed his desire to remain with Diego Simeone’s men for 2013/14, with Champions League football on the agenda.

The Belgian helped Atletico Madrid to win the Copa del Rey last season, while in 2011/12 he picked up the Europa League with the club.

Chelsea have consistently refused to consider selling Courtois outright, but Czech Republic custodian Petr Cech shows no sign of moving on from between the sticks at Stamford Bridge.
