Aston Villa’s new signing Jores Okore is raring to start his life in the Premier League and has lauded the Villa fans.

The centre-back, who was signed from Danish club Nordsjaelland, has already heard about the experience of playing at Villa Park and cannot wait to get started.



Okore, who is known for his pace and strength, will get to witness the scenes in Villa Park on match days when his side host Liverpool on 24th August.

He told the club’s official site, "It’s going to be exciting to play at Villa Park. I can’t wait. I am looking forward to it.

Okore is excited to meet his new colleagues on Monday, when the squad are due to return to training and further added that he will improve a great deal personally under Claret and Blues manager Paul Lambert.

"We want to show our potential. We are a young team and have a long way to go. But we can get to a good level of performance and really show everyone who we are.

"We have a great coach who can develop us and make us really good players. I think he can bring some great things out in me.

"We want to be a good team. We want to get some exciting things going. We have good players all around. I want to be a big part of the team personally too.

"I want to help the team to a new era. That’s what I want to do. I want to perform really well."

The 20-year-old started his career with Nordsjaelland in 2009 and amassed more than 75 appearances for them, scoring five times.

Ivorian-born Danish footballer Okore is contracted with Aston Villa until 30th June 2017.
