Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho insists he is flattered by interest from AC Milan and Liverpool, but stressed the Parc des Princes holds a special place in his heart.

Sakho slipped out of the first team picture at times under Carlo Ancelotti at PSG last season, however the Italian has since left for Real Madrid and has been replaced by Laurent Blanc.

Both Milan and Liverpool have been linked with the 23-year-old stopper, who is keen to ensure he has first team football throughout next season in order to book a spot in the France squad for the 2014 World Cup.

But, despite admitting he may have to leave, Sakho is keen to explain if PSG want him and can promise to play him, he will stay.

"There must be some clarity", he told L’Equipe.

"PSG is my club. I was born and raised here.

"But I also play football and I did that too little here lately.

"I won’t sit on the bench for another year and perhaps a departure is the best option, but I want to see what the new coach wants to do with me."

And the Frenchman was at pains to point out interest in his services pleases him.

"I do feel flattered by interest from Liverpool and Milan.

"We’ll see."
