Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s move to Borussia Dortmund is on its last legs today with the midfielder currently undergoing a medical at the club before penning his contract, according to Sky Sports Deutschland.

Dortmund officials had been quick to fly over last week to hack out a deal with their counterparts at Shakhtar Donetsk, and it appears the move is paying dividends.

Mkhitaryan had been chased by Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Anzhi Makhachkala this summer, with bids flying in from all angles.

However, it is understood the Armenian is posed to sign a three-year contract with Dormtund, with the option of a further year’s extension.

Details of the contract are yet to be made official, although developments are expected later today when the playmaker officially signs off on the deal.

The 24-year-old emerged as a hot property this summer after becoming the Ukrainian league’s leading scorer, as Shakhtar Donetsk wrapped up the title with relative ease.

However, with Liverpool’s interest gaining momentum back then, he opted to skip pre-season training and was facing a fine from his club.
