Christian Eriksen has addressed talk that Liverpool are in the hunt for his signature by insisting that he does not know of any concrete interest from the Merseyside giants.

Liverpool scouted Eriksen consistently last season and have at points appeared poised to make an offer for the Denmark playmaker.

However, those plans were abandoned in favour of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, although Liverpool have been forced to rethink their approach after missing out on the Armenian midfielder to Borussia Dortmund.

Now a swoop for Eriksen is back on the agenda at Anfield – but the man himself cannot shed any light on that.

"I don’t know anything more about it than you", the 21-year-old told Eredivisie Live when questioned.

Eriksen did admit though that he is fully prepared to leave the Amsterdam ArenA, with the only caveat being that any switch must be to a club bigger than the Eredivisie champions; something which has not been put on the table at present.

"I want to go to a club at which everything is bigger than it is at Ajax.

"As yet there is no concrete interest from such a club."

Ajax coach Frank de Boer admitted earlier this summer that hoping to keep hold of Eriksen was unrealistic. The Dutch tactician may now have been cheered by the lack of movement on the transfer front involving the Denmark international.
