Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan is interested in buying Croatian side NK Dubrovnik, as he looks to set up a feeder club for the Welsh giants.

The Malaysian billionaire is taking a keen interest in the game in Croatia, for the benefit of Cardiff, and has begun to make moves to acquire a side in the country.

According to 24 Sata, Tan has set his sights on minnows NK Dubrovnik and has already met with representatives from the club, along with the city’s mayor.

Tan had reportedly been considering investing in one of Croatia’s biggest clubs, Hajduk Split, but cooled on the idea as it was considered too risky.

If successful in his takeover, Tan will use the Croatian outfit to hand first team experience to Cardiff hopefuls, as well as exporting Croatian talents to Wales.

Tan’s investment in Cardiff has helped the Welsh side gain promotion to the Premier League, where they will play next season.

He presided over the club changing their traditional blue shirts to red in 2012.

Cardiff start their Premier League campaign with a trip to West Ham on 17th August, followed by two home games, against Manchester City and Everton, respectively.
