Veteran Brazilian goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is eyeing a possible return to former club PSV Eindhoven and believes current side Tottenham Hotspur will be willing to allow him to leave on a free transfer.

Gomes has slipped down the goalkeeping pecking order at White Hart Lane, with Hugo Lloris and Brad Friedel well ahead of him.

The 32-year-old spent the second half of last season at Bundesliga club Hoffenheim on loan, though missed the conclusion of the campaign through injury.

His priority for 2013/14 is to play on a regular basis – and old club PSV may fit the bill.

"I believe that I could leave Tottenham for free", he told Voetbal Primeur.

"I would love to return to PSV, but there has been no concrete contact yet."

And Gomes, who played for PSV from 2004 until 2008, feels he has much football left in him, commenting that: "I am fitter than ever."

The shot-stopper won eleven caps for Brazil between 2003 and 2010.
