Galatasaray creative schemer Wesley Sneijder has played down talk he could move to Chelsea simply because he is in regular contact with Jose Mourinho, insisting that the pair are merely "friends".

There have been suggestions that the Dutchman could join Mourinho at Stamford Bridge this summer, despite only having landed at the Turk Telekom Arena in January.

And Sneijder, who won the Turkish Super Lig title with Galatasaray last season, has moved to pour cold water on that talk.

"I always talk with Mourinho. I am in contact with him", he was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

"But this has nothing to do with possible negotiations.

"We are good friends, who keep in touch regularly."

Sneijder played under Mourinho at Italian giants Inter, enjoying a superb campaign in the 2009/10 season, when the Nerazzurri won a treble of Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League.
