AC Milan have at last had some good news to deliver regarding Keisuke Honda, as the Rossoneri are set for talks with CSKA Moscow in the "next few days" for a possible summer transfer.

Yesterday saw "a small step forward" in the pursuit of Japan international Honda, with Milan CEO Adriano Galliani revealing that a meeting with CSKA could take place in Monaco.

"Progress over Honda? Maybe there has been something – a small step forward", Galliani was quoted by Gazzetta dello Sport as saying. "It is possible that we will meet the CSKA president in Monaco."

And barring a change in venue, according to the same publication, there has been little to suggest that Milan will not be given the chance to state their case.

Gazzetta have revealed that CSKA could be holding the discussions in Germany, but overall, Honda’s preferred move this summer, as opposed to December, remains on track.

Galliani was today quoted as saying: "The parties are approaching each other and there could be a meeting in the next few days."

Germany may have entered the equation owing to the fact that Milan are due to play the Audi Cup tournament this week alongside Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Sao Paulo.

CSKA face a small crisis of player-shortage of their own, having sold Vagner Love to a Chinese Super League side and seeing a few injuries within the squad.

For that reason, Honda was seen as vital to their new Champions League campaign, and the Russians were only willing to sell the player in December, when his contract was due to expire.
