Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has provided an injury update on his squad prior to their first game of the new season.

The Gunners will be without Thomas Vermaelen, Abou Diaby, Nacho Monreal and Mikel Arteta for their season opener against Aston Villa tomorrow.

While Monreal is expected to be back training in around 10 days, the remaining trio will be sidelined for longer periods.

"Vermaelen is out. Monreal is out. Arteta will be out. Monreal will return soon – the others are a bit longer”, the manager told his club's official site.
