The Arsenal Supporters' Trust have demanded that the club focus completely on signing new players before the transfer window slams shut.

The Gunners have managed to sign only one player so far this summer, in the form of French striker Yaya Sanogo, who arrived on a free transfer from Auxerre.

Arsenal have missed out on Gonzalo Higuain, Luis Suarez, Stevan Jovetic and Luiz Gustavo over the course of the current window.

And the Arsenal Supporters' Trust feel that boss Arsene Wenger should not be offered a new contract at present, with the focus instead being on transfers.

"Chief executive Ivan Gazidis has spoken of the intent to offer Wenger a new contract. We believe this is inappropriate", the group said in a statement.

"The entire focus must be on using the remaining days of the transfer window to strengthen the team significantly", they added.

Arsenal lost their first game of the new Premier League season at the weekend, going down 3-1 at home against Aston Villa.
