Paris Saint-Germain have ramped up their efforts to make a double raid on England for players, with Yohan Cabaye and Nani firmly on their list.

PSG's opening two games have failed to secure a win – only two draws – something unexpected considering their summer signings so far.

It means their assistant sporting director Jean-Claude Blanc's return from holiday has sparked something of a frenzy for quick signings.

Blanc has taken over duties from Leonardo who resigned after securing the big-money signing of Edinson Cavani from Napoli.

Both Cabaye and Nani have long been on the list but, according to Le Parisien, the French champions are trying to formalise their efforts, especially given Arsenal's recent approaches.

The Gunners waded in with a £10m bid for Newcastle United's Cabaye, less than a day before the Magpies' season opener, a fact boss Alan Pardew was not happy about.

As expected Newcastle rejected Arsenal's offer and it means PSG will be well in place to launch their own bid.

PSG coach Laurent Blanc is already a fan of Cabaye, and he will look to further strengthen his squad with Manchester United's Nani, also courted by Roma.

The Portuguese is understood to be without offers until now, despite earlier interest from Monaco, but PSG's new-found zeal may well have the final say.

Nani has had an uncertain summer, especially with his contract set to expire next year, and it remains to be seen if he forms part of manager David Moyes's plans going forward.
