Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits he has heard that Chelsea could be willing to sell Juan Mata this summer, but feels that even if that is the case, Jose Mourinho's men would probably not want to see the Spaniard at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger is working hard to sign new players this summer, having so far failed to land any of the world-class targets he identified at the start of the transfer window.

Mata, who has seen his position at Chelsea come under increasing scrutiny, has been suggested as a potential addition.

But despite Wenger hearing that the playmaker may be available, he is not too sure he could join the Gunners.

"I have heard like you, because I watched the game last night, that Juan Mata could be on the market", Wenger said via his club's official site, following his side's 2-0 win over Fenerbahce in the Champions League.

"I don't know. There's anyway a reluctance in England to sell to each other."

It remains to be seen if Wenger will launch a swoop for Mata and if Chelsea are really prepared to sell the Spain international, who has enjoyed much success in English football and won a whole host of plaudits.
