Chelsea are poised to sign Christian Atsu from FC Porto, with the only hiccup that could prevent the deal from going through an issue in the player's medical.

The left-sided forward's contract at Porto expires next summer and Chelsea are set to pay around €4m to take him to Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old has been open about his desire to play in the English Premier League and has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur at points.

But according to Portuguese daily Record, it is former Porto coach Jose Mourinho who is set to win the race for Atsu.
