Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt has expressed fears that his club may not be able to hold onto highly-rated wonderkid Julian Draxler should they receive a convincing bid.

The 19-year-old has been heavily linked with a number of big clubs in recent months, with the likes of Real Madrid and Arsenal believed to be among those interested in signing the player.

And while Draxler has on countless occasions committed his future to Die Konigsblauen, Heldt fears he may not be able to refuse a big offer should one finally arrive.

"We expect Julian to stay with us, but if a bid of over €70m arrives, what can I do?" Heldt told German daily Bild.

"We have big plans for him, but like everything else in this crazy world of football, I have no influence", the Schalke official added.

Draxler made a total 39 appearances for Schalke last term, scoring a commendable 13 goals along the way despite his tender age, and helping the Bundesliga side qualify for this term's Champions League.
