Inter are pondering making a January move for Barcelona right-back Martin Montoya.

The transfer window may just have closed, but the Nerazzurri are already thinking about reinforcements for when it opens again at the start of 2014.

And Montoya, who is finding securing a regular first team spot at Barcelona to be difficult, is a player the Italian side are interested in, according to Tutto Mercato.

Barcelona have yet to renew Montoya's contract, which expires next summer, and could be open to allowing him to leave for a nominal fee.

While Montoya was on the bench for both legs of the Spanish Super Cup, he has not made the squad for any of Barcelona's three La Liga games so far.

Indeed, the Spaniard has Dani Alves firmly ahead in the pecking order.

The 22-year-old only made 11 starts in La Liga last season, clocking up a total of 15 appearances for the champions in the Spanish top flight.
