New Tottenham Hotspur signing Christian Eriksen has vowed to "get used" to life at White Hart Lane and accepts that he may not be selected in the club's starting eleven at once.

Spurs swooped to capture Eriksen before the summer transfer window slammed shut, paying Ajax a fee of €12m plus a further €1.5m in bonuses to sign the 21-year-old.

In the process Eriksen became the most expensive Danish player of all time and has high expectations placed on his shoulders.

But the playmaker is not taking things for granted and fully expects a big challenge to await him in England.

"I will be difficult at Spurs, but that's what I wanted", he told Het Parool.

"I will get used to it.

"Maybe I will play right away, maybe I will not. But I am really looking forward to it."

Eriksen had been a man in demand over the summer, but adopted a picky approach over his destination.

Indeed, the Dane turned down offers from Bayer Leverkusen and three Russian clubs, while there was also interest from Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.
