Galatasaray chairman Unal Aysal insists he will not stand in the way of talented striker Burak Yilmaz if suitors Chelsea ever came calling with an offer.

Yilmaz poured in 24 goals last season for Galatasaray in the Super Lig, a feat that earned him interest from Arsenal as well as from Lazio earlier in the summer.

Lazio, in fact, were even understood to have made an offer, but that was described as "funny" by Aysal, who said at the time: "We need him."

However, there could be a change in policy over the the Turkey international, with Aysal today quoted by ITV.com as saying: "If he wants to go and Chelsea are interested then of course, why not?

"I favour Turkish players going to Europe to play in European leagues."

While Aysal denied there had been any official offer from Chelsea yet, he did explain why Lazio's efforts eventually fell by the wayside.

"We had some requests from Lazio at the end of the summer", Aysal added. "But the deal didn't go through because the conditions were not satisfied."

Yilmaz's run of scoring began the way he left off last season, with two goals in as many games at the start, though he has not found the net since late August.
