Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has warned Manchester United could risk another Paul Pogba-esque case if they fail to act fast on Adnan Januzaj.

Januzaj, who turned 18 earlier this year, has a contract Manchester United that expires next year, and many have called for manager David Moyes to do the needful on a potential future star.

The case could become similar to that of Pogba, who left Manchester United at the end of his contract last year to join Juventus on a free transfer.

The switch had apparently been in place for weeks before the actual confirmation came about, and Marotta insists he can predict a similar tale for Belgium-born Januzaj.

"If they fear another case like Pogba's, they are right", Marotta told Tuttosport.

"It's difficult to understand how we can reach a stage eight months prior to the contract expiring without seeing a renewal."

"Januzaj is a player showing promise. He is a player of great quality."

A sub-plot in the Januzaj saga revolves around his national allegiance, whereby at least five countries including England could lay claim to his talents.

While England may have to wait until 2018 due to rules around naturalisation, Turkey, Albania and Serbia boast family ties with Januzaj, who also qualifies for his native Belgium.
