Galatasaray coach Roberto Mancini is eyeing raiding his old club Manchester City for left-back Aleksandar Kolarov.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Mancini has been handed a transfer kitty of €35m for January and is keen to take Kolarov to the Turk Telekom Arena.

Ironically, that may put Mancini in competition with the side which provided the opposition for his first game in charge of Galatasaray – Juventus.

The Bianconeri are long time admirers of the Manchester City man and had been plotting their own January move.

Kolarov has played in five of Manchester City's opening eight Premier League games this season and it remains to be seen whether the Citizens will consider parting with the left-back.

The 27-year-old joined Manchester City in 2010 from Serie A outfit Lazio.

His contract at the Etihad Stadium runs until the summer of 2015.
