Malaga coach Bernd Schuster believes that it will be a good time for his side to take on Real Madrid when the clubs clash in a league match at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday.

Los Blancos have had a stop-start beginning to the current campaign which has the club in third place with 19 points from eight games, already five points adrift of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

In addition, the capital club will not be able to prepare thoroughly for the weekend’s game due to the international break, which concluded last night.

And Schuster feels that it is the ideal time for Malaga to play his former employers Real Madrid.

“It's a good time for us. They aren't right and are ripe for the taking”, he told Marca.

“They'll have just got back from an international break and won't have been able to prepare for the game, because they've only had Diego Lopez available.”

Schuster, who played as well as managed Real Madrid earlier in his career, took charge of Malaga in the summer, replacing outgoing boss Manuel Pellegrini.

Malaga are currently 10th in La Liga standings with nine points from eight fixtures.
