Alexandre Pato could become central to a north London derby in the winter transfer window, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur given effective permission by Corinthians to start bidding.

Pato recently revealed Tottenham had made an offer for him, but that he planned to stay on with Corinthians.

The former AC Milan striker has been in decent form for Corinthians since joining them in January this year, but a move could be on the cards again.

And Corinthians sporting director Roberto Andrade is not above considering offers from abroad for the 24-year-old .

He told Brazilian outlet Radio Bandeirantes: "Given Alexandre Pato's value, I think it is difficult for him to be transferred to another Brazilian club.

"But if Arsenal and Tottenham are interested, we do not rule out a sale when the winter transfer market opens in January."

Pato had himself previously admitted to Tottenham's interest, saying: "I have received an offer from Tottenham. But I sat with my leaders and my agent to tell them I wanted to stay."

Pato's time at Milan saw him lift the 2010/11 Serie A title, and he finished with 150 games and 63 goals for the Rossoneri.

He signed up with Corinthians this January on a four-year deal and has scored eight goals in 22 Serie A games in the Brazilian top flight.
