Luis Alberto has stated that he is determined to prove to one and all that he is capable of playing for Liverpool by taking full advantage of an opportunity when it comes his way.

The winger joined the Reds from Sevilla on a five-year deal during the summer transfer window and has thus far played in just six matches in all competitions for the club, most of which were substitute appearances.

And the 21-year-old revealed that he wants to follow in the footsteps of Philippe Coutinho, who has become an integral part of the Liverpool squad since joining the Merseyside club from Inter Milan in January.

However, Alberto admitted that he is aware of the fact that he has to be patient and continue working hard in order to succeed at Anfield.

"I admire Philippe and we get on well on and off the pitch", he explained to Liverpool’s official site.

"He can be one of the people who are an example for me. I look at many people as an example.

"Not only Philippe, but various others have said I need to be patient and work well and it will happen.

"When it arrives, then I have to show that I am good enough for Liverpool."
