Inter coach Walter Mazzarri has set his sights on Southampton striker Pablo Osvaldo, with a potential swoop for the Italy international on the agenda.

Osvaldo exited Serie A just this summer when completing a switch from Roma to Southampton, however Mazzarri feels he could be tempted back.

Mazzarri is looking to bolster his attacking options when the transfer window re-opens in January and, according to Sky Italia, wants the 27-year-old at the San Siro.

Southampton tied Osvaldo down to a contract which runs until 2017 in the summer and may not be keen to sell the striker.

Indeed, the Saints have fielded Osvaldo in eight Premier League games so far this term, although he has only netted once.

Southampton have made a sensational start to the season and currently find themselves sitting a lofty third in the Premier League standings.

Osvaldo cost the Saints a shade over €15m to sign from Roma.
