Manchester United have agreed to loan out promising goalkeeper Ben Amos to English League One side Carlisle United.

The Red Devils have sent the 23-year-old for a one-month stint at Brunton Park, however Amos will not be able to represent the side in the FA Cup.

Carlisle boss Graham Kavanagh has been quick to praise Manchester United for allowing Amos to make the move.

He told his club's official site: "As usual, Manchester United have been fantastic with us.

"They wanted him to come to us and play because he hasn't had games recently.

"They think very highly of him so this fits perfectly with what they want for him at the moment."

Amos will undoubtedly be relishing the chance to clock up regular first team football in the cut and thrust of the third tier.
