Celtic manager Neil Lennon is confident that midfielder Joe Ledley will pen a new contract at the club, explaining that the Welshman "loves it" at Celtic Park.

Ledley's current deal with the Scottish champions runs out at the end of the present campaign, but Lennon is keen for the 26-year-old to extend his stay.

The Northern Irish tactician also remains hopeful that the former Cardiff midfielder will do just that.

"He has indicated to me that he loves it here, so that's a very good sign", Lennon was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I had good chat with Joe on Wednesday; a private conversation. I'm hoping things will get moving along, one way or another.

"There's an offer on the table and it's just waiting for his representatives to come up and negotiate things through."

Ledley landed at Celtic in 2010, making the move from Cardiff when his contract with the Welsh outfit expired.
