Maxime Gonalons' agent has admitted that he is holding talks with Napoli sporting director Ricardo Bigon, but cannot say whether a move will result from them.

The Lyon midfielder has long been on Napoli coach Rafael Benitez's wanted list, though he seemed to rule out quitting the Stade Gerland before the end of the season recently.

Nevertheless, Napoli are talking to Gonalons' agent, undoubtedly aware that there is interest from other clubs in the Frenchman; Arsenal were notably linked with bidding for the Lyon midfielder in the summer, something he declared "nice".

"I'm talking to Bigon and with Napoli", Frederic Guerra told Canale Napoli, adding: "Let's see what happens later."

The player's representative did stress though that his client is remaining focused on the task at hand in Ligue 1 with Lyon.

"Maxime is focused on doing well with Lyon, that's a fact.

"It is normal and good to know that big European clubs take an interest in him."
