Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina has rolled out the red carpet for Liverpool defenders Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel to join him in Italy.

Reina is currently on a season-long loan from Liverpool at Napoli, but does not look likely to have a future back at Anfield given the Reds' signing of Belgium shot-stopper Simon Mignolet in the summer.

Napoli are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements and both Agger and Skrtel, two players Reina knows well, have been mooted as targets for the Italian side.

And, while not wanting to anger the Liverpool fans, Reina feels the pair could certainly cut the mustard in Serie A.

"It's hard for me to talk about Agger and Skrtel because I wouldn't want to stir up the Liverpool fans", Reina was quoted as saying by Bold.

"But they are among the best in Europe.

"So of course they would be able to be successful at Napoli."

Were both Agger and Skrtel, or even one, to head to Napoli, they would reunite with former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez, who is currently steering the side's Serie A charge.
