Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has explained that his side will turn their focus back to the Premier League after reaching the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Reds, who defeated Oldham Athletic 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday, will either play Bournemouth or Burton Albion in an away fixture in the next round of the domestic competition later this month.

However, Rodgers wants his side to focus on the Premier League, where they will face Stoke City and Aston Villa on 12th and 18th January respectively before their trip to Bournemouth or Burton Albion on the last weekend of the month.

But the manager admitted that it will be a tough outing for Liverpool in the FA Cup as it will be an away game in addition to being in the weekend before the club’s huge Merseyside derby against Everton on 28th January.

"It will be a tough game; we'll play it the weekend before the derby”, Rodgers told his club’s official site.

“It's always difficult. When you go through into the next round, of course you always prefer the home draws.

"But wherever you go away from home, it will be a difficult game.

"We've got league games to focus on before that and then we'll take that later on in the month."
