Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that the club plan to splash the cash in the summer transfer window.

Dortmund have suffered a blow with the news that Robert Lewandowski will join Bayern Munich at the end of his contract in the summer and that has placed pressure on sporting director Michael Zorc to speed up recruitment.

Jurgen Klopp's men have stuttered in the Bundesliga this term and currently sit 12 points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich.

And reinforcements are on the cards, Watzke has admitted.

"In the summer we can, we want to and we will invest", Watzke told SportBild.

"The amount of investment for the moment remains our secret", he added.

It is thought that Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa, a former Dortmund player, is under consideration at the Ruhr giants, while Hoffenheim striker Kevin Volland and Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter are also wanted by last year's Champions League finalists.
