Montpellier coach Rolland Courbis has struck a realistic note over in-demand playmaker Remy Cabella, admitting a bid could well arrive to which it is impossible to say no.

Cabella is wanted by Newcastle and Manchester United, with the English pair firm fans of his silky passing and vision.

Montpellier vice-president Laurent Nicollin has conceded that an offer may arrive for Cabella, while stating the side's determination to keep him until at least the summer as they battle relegation from Ligue 1.

But Courbis can imagine a situation in which he has to make do without Cabella and only hopes if that does transpire that he can add up to three new recruits to replace the 23-year-old.

Speaking after Montpellier's 1-1 draw against Monaco last night, Courbis said: "It's impossible to say what will happen [with Cabella].

"Sometimes it happens that sums arrive that are difficult to refuse.

"If that happens, we will talk about it calmly. In this case, one would hope to be able to compensate [for his loss] with two or three recruits."

Cabella has already gone on record as saying that the current campaign will be his last at the Stade de la Mosson, but the playmaker was also adamant that he will not leave Montpellier in Ligue 2.
