Paris Saint-Germain have seen the door "politely closed" over a Paul Pogba transfer, director general Giuseppe Marotta has claimed.

With a host of European giants following Pogba, PSG were understood to be preparing a €50m offer for the former Manchester United man.

He would have potentially earned himself €7m in annual wages, though Juventus have long insisted he is not for sale.

Pogba is also on the radars at Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United, but Marotta told Radio 1: "We will not sell Pogba.

"We politely closed the door to PSG.

"Juve is rarely a selling club. Our goal is to strengthen the group."

Pogba's deal at Juventus will run out in 2016, though club chiefs have previously expressed fears about holding on to him in the near future.

With his value rising, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli had said late last month: "Italian football can not afford a salary of five or six million. In the future it will be difficult to keep him."
