Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that Fernando Torres is set to spend "a few weeks" on the sidelines.

Torres came on for hat-trick hero Samuel Eto'o during the second half of Chelsea's 3-1 win over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge earlier today.

But the Spaniard suffered a knee ligament injury during the closing stages of the match.

And Mourinho has confirmed Torres will now be out of the reckoning, something which hands Demba Ba an opportunity.

The Portuguese was quoted as saying by the BBC: "It's time for Demba. It's a pity because Torres is in a good moment.

"Demba had a fantastic week, it was very difficult for me to leave him out of selection because he worked very, very well.

"The next matches are for Demba or Samuel."
