Julio Cesar is perhaps only half-joking when wishing to enjoy the delights of Sardinia, though he may also be half-wishing an offer from Cagliari does present itself.

Cesar has been desperate to leave Queens Park Rangers this winter in preparation for the World Cup, though he did make his season debut in the FA Cup defeat to Everton.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp had previously claimed there were big clubs following the Brazilian, with Arsenal understood to be one of them.

Moves to Italy and Brazil as well failed to materialise last year, and Cesar could be tempted into any sort of transfer just to get some game time.

"Sardinia is good, the sun is always there!" Cesar said in a lighter vein to Tutto Mercato when asked about Cagliari's interest.

"I'd love to [move to Cagliari], but I have honestly not come across any offers at the moment.

"I still do not know what I will do in the second half of the season. For now, all I can think of doing is training."
