Inter have knocked back an approach from Stoke City to sign Mauro Icardi on loan.
According to Italian outlet Sportmediaset, representatives of the Premier League side paid the Italian giants a surprise visit earlier today and had snapping up Icardi on their mind.

The Potters wanted Inter to agree to loan the striker to them for the remainder of the season.
Inter though quickly knocked back the proposal, with loaning the 20-year-old out not in their plans at present.

Icardi landed at Inter only last summer, moving over to the San Siro from fellow Serie A club Sampdoria.
Long tipped for the top, Icardi made his senior Argentina debut last year against Uruguay.
