Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin has rejected the notion he ever asked for a transfer, after seeing moves to Chelsea and Juventus fail.

Chelsea had been in talks over Guarin before Juventus came into the picture with a swap deal that involved striker Mirko Vucinic.

However, neither club could reach an agreement with Inter, who have now seen Tottenham Hotspur jump on board.

There is still time for a quick deal to be struck, but Guarin today slammed those who questioned his commitment to the club.

In a picture posted via his Twitter feed, Guarin wrote: "I have been put into the midst of the market, but I've never told anyone that I want to leave.

"I want clarity and respect for myself, for the fans, and for my agent.

"If I go away, the fans will always be in my heart because I realised a dream at Inter and I have always received respect and affection. If I stay, my strength shall be addressed towards Inter's victory."
