Liverpool custodian Simon Mignolet has explained that his side will do their best in order to finish the season in a Champions League spot.

The Reds, who drew 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns yesterday, retained fourth spot in the Premier League despite dropping two points.

However, Mignolet insists that there are still 14 rounds of matches to be played before the end of season. But the Belgian stressed that he wants his side to hold onto their Champions League qualification spot.

"We'll try to do our best", the goalkeeper explained to his club’s official site.

"There's still a long way to go before the end of the season and we have to pick up as many points as we can along the way.

"We have to make sure that we stay where we are, stay focused and be confident that we can get into the top four at the end of the season.”

Next up for Liverpool is a huge clash against Arsenal, who moved atop the Premier League after beating Crystal Palace 2-0 yesterday, on Saturday.

And Mignolet revealed that the Merseyside club will now solely turn their focus to the match against the Gunners at Anfield.

"We've got a massive game at the weekend and we have a whole week to prepare ourselves for that game and we'll turn our focus to that."
