Hamburg's contract extension for Jonathan Tah until 2018 does not present any issues of violations, the defender's advisor has claimed.

Tah and Hamburg could fall foul of FIFA rules regarding under-18s, which state that a contract can only be signed for a maximum of three years.

Tah's extension last November gave him an additional two years from 2016, despite interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

However, Akeem Adewunmi, who had handled Tah's renewal last November alongside the defender's parents, believes there is no case to contest.

"The parents have signed and the boy has signed", Adewunmi was quoted by the Hamburger Morgenpost as saying. "Thus, the contract is valid.

"All this is accurate. Jonathan wants to stay until 2018 at HSV. People seem to want to challenge something, where there is nothing to challenge."

According to reports in Germany today, Tah has also been given a release clause of €25m for this summer, as well as a significant wage ladder, including if he breaks into the Germany senior team.

"Of course, as a player, he always arouses interest", Adewunmi added. "But even if a club puts €25m on the table, Jonathan will remain at HSV for sure."
