Joel Campbell's agent has thrown the ball into Arsenal's court over the striker's future by explaining the Costa Rica forward would not be happy to return to the Gunners to warm the bench.

The 20-year-old is on loan at Greek champions Olympiacos, who have started to talk to Arsenal about keeping him beyond the end of this season.

Campbell is enjoying life in Piraeus and would not want to end his Greek adventure if Arsene Wenger had no intention of handing him a starting role at Arsenal.

"His future at the moment is a matter for discussion between the two clubs", Joaquim Batica was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

"It was difficult for Joel to go to a top club like Arsenal from the beginning.

"But now he is happy in Greece.

"Would he return to London? He would not be happy sitting on the bench, even at a big club."

Campbell has enjoyed a positive season with Olympiacos so far this season, featuring in 23 Super League games and hitting the back of the net on seven occasions.

The Costa Rica international has also chipped in with ten assists for his team-mates.
