Former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has emerged as a strong candidate to take over at Turkish giants Trabzonspor.

The Black Sea Storm are on the lookout for a new coach after parting company with Mustafa Resit Ackay, and have already been considering ex-Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo and current Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic.

Now, according to Turkish outlet Spor.bugun, Villas-Boas is coming under serious consideration at Trabzonspor.

Villas-Boas is unemployed, having been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in December.

It remains to be seen whether the 36-year-old would be tempted by the prospect of taking charge of Trabzonspor and competing in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Portuguese has so far only managed at club level in his native Portugal and in England.
