Toni Kroos' future at Bayern Munich could hinge on how much the club are willing to pay the player, as talks begin on a potential contract extension.

Kroos, contracted until 2015, was keenly watched by Manchester United manager David Moyes when Bayern Munich beat Arsenal earlier this week.

It has fuelled rumours of a transfer in the summer, though Juventus are also understood to be followers.

Kroos has been at Bayern Munich for more than six years now, and, according to Bild, currently earns a club-average €4m per year.

In contrast, Mario Gotze, represented by the same agent as Kroos, earns nearly three times that amount.

It means Kroos' contract renewal will come with the demand of a salary hike, believed to reach up to €8m at least.

The 24-year-old put in a brilliant display against the Gunners, capping it with a goal in the 2-0 win.
