Promising young Freiburg centre-back Matthias Ginter admits he is "honoured and excited" to hear of interest in his services from Manchester United.
The 20-year-old has been strongly linked with the English champions as a potential summer acquisition as boss David Moyes looks to reinvigorate his defence.

Word of the link has reached Ginter, who cannot hide his delight at seeing his name associated with one of the biggest clubs in world football.
"If it is true, I am of course honoured and excited", Ginter was quoted as saying by Fichajes.

However, the defensive starlet is playing it safe, suggesting that much can happen to Manchester United's summer wishlist between now and the time the transfer window opens again.
"On the other hand", the Freiburg defender said, "there is still a long time until the summer."
Ginter, who is a Freiburg youth product, is a Germany Under-21 international and has also been linked with Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
