Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has voiced his frustration at his continuing substitute role at Old Trafford, claiming his club "don't take me much into account".

Hernandez has been called up to the Mexico squad which will take on Nigeria in an international friendly in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

And the Mexican hitman, who has sat on the bench for all 90 minutes of Manchester United's last three games, is glad of the chance to get some minutes on the pitch under his belt.

"I am very eager to play as my club don't take me much into account. I hope I have the opportunity to play", he explained to Record.

"When you are called up, you have to be thankful and if not called up, you have to keep working.

"I am very happy and thankful with this call-up, like I was when I was called up for the first time."

Hernandez has started just four times in the Premier League for Manchester United so far this season, seeing his goal tally suffer as a result, with just two registered.
