Real Madrid have initiated contact with Tenerife over young striker Ayoze Perez.

The 20-year-old has shone with the Islanders in Spain's second tier this season, scoring 12 goals in 26 games and catching Real Madrid's eye.

Now, according to Spanish daily El Confidencial, Los Blancos have made contact over snapping up Perez for next season.

A Tenerife youth product, the 20-year-old has progressed through the ranks at the Canary Island club, turning out for Tenerife B last season before being promoted to the senior ranks.

Tenerife currently sit seventh in the Spanish Segunda Division, just one point outside the promotion playoff places.

Real Madrid's B team, Real Madrid Castilla, find themselves 17th in the table.

Perez has scored twice against Real Madrid Castilla this season.
