Ajax look to have finally done a deal for FC Groningen starlet Richairo Zivkovic.

The Dutch champions have been in talks to sign the 17-year-old forward, who has also attracted attention from Liverpool and Barcelona, amongst others.

Groningen had recently denied a deal was done and it was thought Ajax were speaking with Zivkovic's representatives first before agreeing a fee with their fellow Dutch side.

Now, according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, the agreement is all but over the line, with a fee of €2.5m plus bonuses having been thrashed out between the clubs.

Importantly, Ajax have also reached an agreement with Zivkovic on a contract, which is believed to be set to run for three years.

The deal will delight Ajax coach Frank de Boer, who comprehensively rolled out the red carpet for Zivkovic last week.

"He would be a good player for Ajax", De Boer said.

"He has all the qualities to be a good striker and has additionally become accustomed to Eredivisie football.

"With us he can take his next steps, for example with help from Dennis Bergkamp."
