Prolific Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi admits Arsenal are the club he has loved since childhood and explained he would welcome the chance to head to the Emirates Stadium.

Batshuayi's feats in the Belgian top flight have seen him attract more than his fair share of interest, with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven the club to most recently make the running for his signature.

The striker concedes that he is unlikely to still be at Standard Liege next season, despite a contract which runs until the summer of 2018.

"Unfortunately, I do not think I'll stay", Batshuayi admitted to La Tribune.

"Many things can still happen but I am someone who has goals. I want to progress as quickly as possible.

"I'll make a choice with my agents and my family. I must consider things carefully."

And where might Batshuayi head? For the striker there is no doubt over just which destination would represent the fulfiling of a childhood dream.

"I'm interested in the German and English leagues. They are physical and technical leagues.

"Personally, I like Arsenal.

"There is a good philosophy that the club have, where they trust in young people.

"They are a very technical team who play good football. Since I was little, I've liked the team."

Batshuayi, who has scored 18 league goals so far this season, has a buyout clause believed to be set at around the €8m mark.

He has also interested Everton in recent months.
