Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is confident of his team’s performance ahead of their Clasico clash against rivals Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

The Whites will head into the game on the back of a 3-1 victory against Schalke in the Champions League and the Italian manager is wary of their chances against a strong team that have just defeated Osasuna 7-0 in their league game last weekend.

“We are in good form and really looking forward to the match. We know it is difficult against a great team. We have to play our best football because to beat Barcelona you have to play at 100%”, the 54-year-old was quoted as saying by the club’s website.

“We have improved a lot. The atmosphere is good and healthy. We are very excited and motivated.”

Real Madrid are hoping for a treble win this season after they qualified for the quarter-finals of the Champions League 9-2 on aggregate against Schalke.

Already in the final of the Spanish Cup against Barcelona on 16th April, the club are leading the Spanish league, three points ahead of Atletico Madrid closely followed by Barcelona and Ancelotti believes it will be a tight title race.

“We are in all the competitions. The match is very complicated but we are confident. It will be an open game and I do not think it will decide La Liga because Atletico are there too. I think this league will be decided in the last match”, he said.
