After last night’s derby drubbing at the hands of Manchester City at Old Trafford, Manchester United manager David Moyes has again thanked the fans for the support that they have provided to the team in difficult times, but warned there is not much he can change from now until the end of the season.

Speaking to the club’s official site, Moyes again expressed his gratitude towards the fans for their continued support, even though the club are going through a tough transitional period.

"Thanks everybody for the support", he said. "It was great tonight – we had a lot of support for the team during the game.”

Even though the manager has received flak for the side's general style of play and bewildering tactics, he expects the fans to show patience.

"I genuinely feel that most people understand that this is something that's going to take a bit of time to alter", he said.

Moyes has admitted to the fact that there is not much change he can bring to either the tactics or style of play between now and the end of the season. He has warned the fans not to expect a turnaround within weeks.

"It can't be something that we're going to do from one Saturday to the next.

"It's not going to change dramatically in the short time between now and the end of the season."

Manchester United next host Aston Villa in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday 29th March.
