Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has praised Liverpool’s refreshing style of football ahead of his side's clash against the Reds at Anfield tonight.

In an interview with Sunderland’s official website, Poyet has lauded the attacking philosophy and the fearlessness with which Liverpool have approached games this season.

“What is true is that they are creating something unique. They are probably the only team in England right now who are not worried about conceding one, two or three goals, because they know they're going to score four, five or six”, he said.

Liverpool’s attacking instincts and their determination to score goals in any situation have made opposing managers, including Poyet, rethink their approach while playing against them. It is becoming increasingly difficult for any team to contain the attacking threats Liverpool possess.

“That's something that's very good for a football club. It doesn't matter how you play, it doesn't matter how you good you defend, it doesn't matter how much you keep the ball, you will always have a threat up front that will give you the goals you need to win the game", added the Uruguayan.

Poyet reserved special praise for the strike partnership of Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez (known as the ‘SAS’), which has defined Liverpool’s season.

“Especially the desire, which is marking this partnership, probably one of the best in the last 20 years in English football.”
