Sevilla president Jose Castro has confirmed that he turned down an offer from an unnamed Premier League club for left-back Alberto Moreno in December.

Moreno has impressed with both Los Rojiblancos in La Liga and at international level with Spain, leading to much interest in his services.

The defender has been linked with a number of clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United in England, while Liverpool have also been credited with tracking his progress.

And a bid did land on Castro's desk from England, although it was one he quickly rejected.

"In December, many clubs came forward and we refused a big offer from the Premier League for him", Castro explained to Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

But the Sevilla powerbroker has revealed that rejecting the bid has not put off clubs from tracking Moreno and a larger offer could meet with a different response.

"Even now, several teams watch him weekly", he said.

"I believe he will have a bright career and I hope he stays at Sevilla for a long time.

"But if we receive an indecent proposal he will leave."
